Founded in 2016 by Sean Parfitt, the focus of Be a St Press (also known as  Beast Press) is to publish public domain short stories alongside artists’ responses to the texts. Where possible artworks related to the publications will also be available to own.

 

We want people to purchase the books and artworks because they like them as objects/images, not for their scarcity or resale value. Which is why all products are open editions and priced to be accesible to whoever wishes to own them. That does not mean we compromise on artistic integrity, rather we want the press to operate with autonomy and at times in stark contrast to the commercial 'art market'.
